As part of our continuing effort to support public education, Thought Potato is proud to present its “Lil’ Spuds Scholarship Program” where we give young, promising students an opportunity to have their own journalistic work published. It helps make Thought Potato look good in the public eye and gives children the chance to do what they do best: free labor.

Today’s piece comes all the way from Albany, Georgia and was written by 3rd grader Misty Collins.

ALBANY, GA — When we went to Applebee’s my first thought was we’re here!! I looked all around me and saw chairs and tables and stuff and everything and it was like whoa okay time to wait to be seated and then before you know it eating time but before I could even finish thinking that thought the hostess was like we can be seated so then our only thought going through our minds was whoa go Applebee’s! The waitress then proceeded to seat us at a medium-sized wooden table that fit our entire party perfectly with room for each person in our group. So that was the third best thing about this Applebee’s was that we got seated in star performance.

Then we take our seats one chair per person and saw the menus and we could see the other tables had their food already except some that hadn’t ordered yet so they’re tables where empty. All I could even think at that point was countdown to burgers, fries, cheese sticks stickers potatoes grilled and wings. There were such good things included on the menu like cheeseburgers, sweet potato french fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, pot stickers and grilled chicken and double crunch bone-in-wings $6.99. To name a few, multiple types of burgers and fries and many more. For drinks there was so much to choose from such as coffee decadent shakes flavored lemonades strawberry quencher lemonade That is why we loved our time at Applebee’s and will be happy to come back here many times and more.

So then it was time to finally order our choices and every person got a different thing except two of us both wanted the same thing and at first we were like well should we just order one and share but then we looked at each other like haha no way and the waitress looked at us like typical Applebee’s night at Applebee’s! We then proceeded to order many burgers, fries, and other selected items from the menu. One person picked only a salad but that’s your perogative. That’s actually another good thing about Applebee’s is everyone can pick whatever they want and they have many options so each person can pick their own options. Then finally after waiting what feels like a lifetime the food comes and wow, it was so good that as every cafeteria teacher always says well you could always have seconds. Suffice to say, we had an extreme good time at Applebee’s and don’t be surprised if we don’t turn into strangers of Applebee’s every night but the only question is will there be enough seconds for one or two and which one of you will get the sweet summer ale?
