Weak Man Admits He Likes Commercial

ARLINGTON, TX — Citing the unexpected punchline, the cute actress, and a catchy jingle, pathetic little man Chad Warrington admitted to friends that he enjoyed the newest AT&T commercial that aired during the Rangers baseball game Thursday night.

"Normally I only like Superbowl commercials," said the sad, sad man

“Normally I only like Superbowl commercials,” said the sad, sad man

“That was actually kinda funny,” chuckled Warrington nervously as he flicked his eyes between his comrades to gauge their silent reaction to the commercial. “Well, funnier than most commercials anyway.”

“Right, guys?”

The commercial, which features a quirky brunette saying something slightly offbeat, aired 16 times during the course of the game.

“Hey, there’s your girlfriend,” snickered Warrington’s co-worker and uncontested Alpha male Todd “12 Pack” Cox upon seeing the AT&T actress reappear to deliver her zany catchphrase (“Totes awkward”).

Warrington, a sorry excuse of a grown man, backpedaled on his earlier confession of enjoyment by saying, “now that I’ve seen it a couple more times it’s not that funny,” and resorted to excuses like, “whoa, I must have had one too many cold ones because this commercial is awful.”

After the 14th viewing of the AT&T spot, Cox snorted when the cell phone slipped out of the unconventional actress’ hands, prompting the line, “Is that what they mean by a dropped call?”

“Huh, I guess it’s OK,” said Cox as the rest of the bros in the room changed their minds and nodded in agreement.

Warrington, sweating like a pig sent for slaughter, sighed a breath of relief and eased the death grip on the Coors Light he had been nursing for an hour.

“Right?! It is funny,” rejoined Warrington, the shameless, spaghetti-spined flip-flopper. “See, I told you guys it was good.”

Warrington returned home after the game, watched the commercial several more times on YouTube, followed the actress on Twitter, and fantasized about winning in a fist fight against Cox.
